Grateful for the Connection 🤎

Welcome to my newsletter!

Hello Kindred Spirit! Thank you for subscribing to my monthly newsletter. It’s wonderful to connect!

I am a life-long environmental artist fascinated by the changing states of matter and beings, particularly in the decomposition/rebirth cycle and its actors -- be them micro or macro. My art examines the intersections of the natural, the man-made, and the existential worlds. One-by-one, I'd been seduced by the charisma of many a media. All the while, I felt a constant pull between the drive to create and the impact of my art materials usage on the planet. My journey has culminated in an art making process where I focus on the local – growing and foraging as much of my own material as I can. My paintings are done with earth pigments in soy milk on cloth. I consciously audit the life cycles of all the products I use. I aim to encourage sustainable living and lead by example.

One thing I do when I’m not making art is grow food. I love to apply permaculture practices to the garden, and to swap seeds and baby plants.

These days, I’m mostly making paintings on cloth with stitch. In addition, I participate in street painting festivals, and create objects and jewelry for special occasions. I am working to make my original pieces available as art prints and for licensing. All I do connects to the theme of respecting the Earth.

I am grateful to you for your interest in my work and in sustainable living.

I often joke about my art being compostable, but it truly is. It’s made of natural, unbleached fibers, different colors of finely ground earth samples, and soya. What do you do that makes you feel good about lowering your carbon footprint?

Until next time,
