I hope that you have had a pleasant month. If you’re anywhere near me in New England, or probably most of the US, it’s been hot.

While our garden was holding steady in the heat with little to harvest or maintain, I was busy researching printing companies. If we all are environmentally conscious about our everyday purchases, why should that be any different for our art and decor? I looked at almost 10 different companies, but there was a clear outlier with whom I identified: Gelato. They are committed to the UN Global Contract Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Creating original art with the lowest impact on the planet is my goal. I would love to share my art via art prints and such, but not at the cost of our values. I was intrigued to find a potential production partner who focuses on sustainability through responsibly sourced products and materials, reduced waste by printing on-demand, and reduced emissions by printing locally to the customer. I was also a little nervous that the products could be low quality. There was only one way to find out.

Last month, I uploaded my designs, selected products (art prints, wrapped canvas, notecards, and a few more), and I ordered samples. Then, I waited in anticipation. One-by-one they arrived and I was thrilled that they looked great! I posted a photo of them on IG and FB. This month I will be hard at work to get items into Etsy and reactivate my shop.

I am grateful to you for your interest in my work and in sustainable living.
